Born in the traditional Norfolk village of Great Bircham. I am a "proper" country girl who enjoys nothing more than pulling on my wellies and getting outdoors whatever the weather.
As long as I can remember I've always been creative, whether with paints of any type, pencil or pens to fabric, leather or clay (a trait that I appear to have passed on to my now teenaged son- Tom!). I've won a few competitions here and there and held exhibitions from Norfolk to London. My earliest memory was winning a "design a new village sign" competition when I was just 8 years old. I remember how excited I was opening the letter to say i'd won and then banking the £8 cheque that was the prize!
Now back to the current day and I find myself inspired by the scenes and observations of the North Norfolk coast. My work generally features tongue in cheek scenarios showing myself and Teasel, the sproodle that features in much of my recent artwork.
I prefer to use mixed media; acrylic, gouache, ink and pencil. I am now forcing myself to keep up with technology by incorporating digital media too (if David Hockney can do it then I must be able to as well!).
